REINE PARADIS
"Pool"
From June 11 to July 12 - 2026

PODGORNY GALLERY is pleased to present THE POOL, a solo show with new works by French artist Reine Paradis.
Born in 1989 and a graduate of the Gobelins School of Visual Communication in Paris, Reine Paradis is exhibited internationally and she has been the subject of solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, Miami, Mexico City and New York. She has lived and worked in Los Angeles since 2012 – a vast city of facades acting as backdrops in sunny light, and leavened by even deeper shadows. It provides the perfect environment for the creation of her works which include photography, painting, film, and sculpture.
THE POOL is Reine Paradis in full form. Gazing into the deep end, the world becomes a distorted version of itself, reflected on an invisible surface; the barrier between the seen and unseen. This void becomes a space within itself, taking shape through blurry eyes; evoking a fuzzy familiarity in the memory of the viewer.
The minimalistic language of Paradis’ work is in direct contrast to her rigorous process. Each color, line, shape, and form are the culmination of years of meticulous calibration and intense dedication. Additionally, the elements within the work, and the mediums she uses, tie into one another because they are derived from the DNA of Paradis herself.
Childhood plays a role in the telling; the feeling of sitting by the water, the summer scents and the warmth of the sun on the skin. Allowing these feelings to guide her is a form of freedom that can only be expressed by diving into those waters.
Her signature use of reflective and transparent material obscure, reflect, and absorb light while creating an aurora-like barrier; one that can hide but also illuminate. THE POOL is an immersive look into the mind of Reine Paradis, inviting viewers to transcend the boundary of reality and imagination.
